Syria: Landlines, Cellular, Internet Cut Off In Hama, Dozens of Blockades Established
Reports are coming in from the city of Hama, indicating that Syrian security forces have stepped up their activities in the city, establishing dozens of blockades across the city and isolating the neighborhoods from each other.
YNET (Hebrew) is reporting of a statement issued by a Syrian opposition representative, saying: “Hama is cut off from the rest of the world. There are no phone lines, no cellular networks, and no Internet. Home arrests are taking place repeatedly in the same neighborhoods”.
The activities of the Syrian armed forces in Hama have increased in the recent days, after they had previously focused in the city’s northern neighborhoods last week - which had provided shelter for many of the fighters of the “Free Syrian Army” opposition group.
